Selena Gomez And Cardi B Bring Bilingual Heat To DJ Snake's 'Taki Taki'
There's only one thing wrong with
DJ Snake's summery new song "Taki Taki," and that's the fact that it arrives into the world on September 28, a full
99 days immediately after Summer '18 started. Although, the certified banger is still mandatory listening, and that's thanks to its all-star roster: Snake,
Ozuna,
Cardi B, and
Selena Gomez.
Puerto Rican heartthrob Ozuna gets the party began with a smooth verse that rides the beat and introduces us to a hypnotic, flute-heavy hook. Cardi and Selena follow suit with bilingual contributions — the former brags, "this punani is undefeated," while the latter injects some cheeky playfulness by cooing, cautious any time whenever you come through my way, my body already know how to play." It's a super radio-friendly mix of reggaeton and hip-hop, a bubbly burst of personalities, and proof that the Latin pop resurgence is far from over. We like it like that.
"Taki Taki" was
announced back in August, and DJ Snake, Ozuna, Cardi, and Selena have all teased the accompanying video, which looks to be a
red-hot affair. In a recent interview with
Billboard on the video's set, Snake revealed that he had originally recorded the collab with just Ozuna, however later determined it needed a feminine touch.
"I wanted to create a reggaeton club record. So I sent it to Ozuna, and he crushed it," the producer mentioned. Although I'd like to have more ladies in the record, Spanish-speaking, so two queens right here. ... This is what I habitually wanted to do, they blessed me with this greatness and dope energy. It’s just a fantastic combo."
Keep your eyes peeled for the video, which will hopefully arrive before winter does!
