Can Sammy 'The Bull' Gravano Make Up For Lost Time With His Families Of The Mafia Clan?

Karen Gravano was 19 once her father, famous mafioso Salvatore "Sammy the Bull" Gravano, was first arrested in New York. And although the former underboss of the Gambino crime family member cooperated with the government while he testified against John Gotti (the family's boss), the full family member (including Karen) afterward "got into some trouble" for selling contraband soon after relocating to Arizona) years later.


Sammy served nearly 18 years in back of bars -- and while in tonight's series premiere of MTV's Families of the Mafia, Karen and Karen's daughter Karina (who are right now in Staten Island) traveled to the Grand Canyon State to spend some time with Sammy.


Soon after some hugs, the trio had a heart-to-heart about the past -- and Sammy directly addressed Karina.


"I apologize for not being around any time while you were an infant and any time once you had graduations," he told his grandchild. "I wish I was there -- to guide you, to be there once there were problems. That's what this life did. That's what I lost."


But if Sammy had to do it all over again, would he make the same decisions?


whenever you take that oath, you put [La] Cosa Nostra above everything," Sammy mentioned, soon after a deep breath. "I probably could make the same decision. I imagined in it with all my heart and soul. I could be a liar if I mentioned no."


He concluded: whichever I did, I do for my family member. Now, I'm comfortable with who I am and what I do."


And speaking of his family member, Sammy has missed milestones and happy occasions featuring his loved ones. So can he make up for what he lost and begin anew?
